Beatrice sets out to link the worlds of fashion and science, creating sustainable rainwear made from wool and natural waxes. She conducted extensive practical investigation to create a more sustainable product, resulting in novel coating of a cool wool fabric with a bio-based organic wax for water-repellence and complete biodegradability. Her innovation has the potential to replace traditional protective rainwear made from synthetics which pollute the planet through release of chemical finishes and microplastics.
